The Hancock County America 250 Semiquincentennial Committee started meeting in early 2025 to start planning for Hancock County to celebrate America 250. The State of Indiana asked the Indiana Historical Society's Local History Services to engage the County Historians to lead the committees in each Hoosier County. In Hancock County, the local county historian, Joe Skvarenina, formed an executive committee that consisted of: Thomas Lopez, Vice President, Marissa Purcell, Secretary, and Katie Ottinger as treasurer. The following groups and organizations are partners on this committee:

City of Greenfield

Community Foundation of Hancock County

Daughters of the American Revolution, Brandywine Chapter

Greenfield Central Education Foundation

Greenfield Main Street

Hancock County Government

Hancock County Historical Society

Hancock County Public Library

Hancock County Tourism

League of Women Voters

Riley Boyhood Home and Museum

Riley Old Home Society

*Sadly, in September of 2025, Joe Skvarenina, Hancock County Historian, passed away. His efforts in initiating the America 250 Celebration in Hancock County will be missed.
